Our Work with the PNE Community and Engagement Trust

During Ramadan, Team Roccia worked with PNE Community and Engagement Trust, where we sponsored two Iftaar events, providing food for the groups.

The impact seen from One North End, building on past successes such as winning the EFL Project of the Season Award in 2022 for their Ramadan project, led them to invite the local community to join them for two special Iftar events during the Holy Month at Deepdale.

The first Iftar, which took place on Friday the 22nd of March, was a significant event. The team at Roccia generously provided all the food for both Iftars, promoting peace and unity in the community.

Both Iftars were held in the Greats Room at Deepdale, and the evening was themed around promoting peace in Preston and the wider community.

The programme began with Asr at 5 pm, followed by updates from Mo Patel, who is PNE’s Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Officer. Engaging presentations, including poems and Quran readings by students from Eden Boys and Preston Muslim Girls School, were featured.

Interfaith talks were hosted throughout the event, with guests from various religious communities sharing their perspectives on peace in Preston. The evening concluded with a closing talk and prayer by the Imam before the fast opened at 6:34 pm, with dates and water provided.

After Maghrib prayer, guests enjoyed a delicious meal featuring chicken legs, lamb biryani, veg biryani, and semolina pudding.

Following the success of the first Iftar, preparations began for the second event at Deepdale, which was held on Friday the 5th of April.
