A little while back, we started looking at 2015 bathroom trends, and one of our favourite trends that we think will be big this year has got to be the natural style. We think that you don’t have to stop at the bathroom as the whole house can benefit from getting a green makeover, so today we’ll talk about how you can give your home the natural look.
Natural Materials
One of the best ways to get in touch with nature in your home is by using natural materials such as wood or natural slate tiles. Not only do they add a sense of the great outdoors to your indoor space, they also look fantastic!
Bring in the Light
Without great lighting, your room isn’t going to be able to convey that natural feel, so having a source of natural light is perfect for this look. If you’re short on windows or your room still feels a little dark, you can use lighting that is designed to brighten up your room in a way your average light bulb can’t achieve!
Natural Colours
If you’re thinking of redecorating, now’s the perfect time to switch your colour scheme and opt for something a little bit more natural. Consider using greens, blues and shades of brown to give your room an earthy feel. These colours work particularly well in the bathroom and kitchen.
Utilise Plant Life
Using plants in your home is a great way to give it a new feel. Consider having potted plants around your living room and bathroom, and you could even have a miniature herb garden in your kitchen. Not only will it look attractive, it will also provide a function for your home.
Use Water
You could take things one step further by incorporating a water feature into your home. These look fantastic in the living room, and will also add some great natural sounds to your house.
