Lighting

Lighting your house with a festive glow is a must this time of year. There are few things that make a room look more Christmassy than carefully selected lighting. White or blue sparkling lights are perfect for creating a winter wonderland and are great for generating that Christmas spirit for when you are firmly planted in the kitchen cooking up a Christmassy storm! So you’ve got the lighting, why not decorate them with ribbon, tinsel or branches and invite that festive spirit in?

Windows

A window sill is the perfect platform to let your creativity run away. There are numerous festive plants that would look just great framing your window, perhaps a cranberry wreath. Pretty and subtle lighting always looks great in a window, from inside or out, so there’s no harm in turning your kitchen into a bit of a grotto, is there?

Seating

If you have a table and chairs in your kitchen, these are another great avenue of festive expression. A ribbon tied around each chair combined with a Christmassy crafted name card will welcome your guests beautifully. A Christmas table wouldn’t look the same without a centre piece; even a simple wreath would tszuj up your table no end, particularly if decorated by candles… although beware of the flames spreading to any of your other wonderful decorations!
